School Farm Excursions – A Day on the Farm

Trevana Glen Farm has been providing for over 25 years an insight into farm life. The young students interact with a hands on approach which also encompasses a variety of questions relating to farm animals, including:

chickens, ducks, cows, pigs, horses and sheep, and a hay ride. One of our local shearers will demonstrate the shearing of one of our sheep.

Throughout the visit there will be lots of animal feeding and nursing. The highlight for many is not only the milking of one of our specially selected breeds of cow, but if mum or dad are present on the day, guess what?…Yes, some of the children actually get to taste the milk. After the teachers have shown their expertise at milking, the mums and dads are also invited to try their hand!
